Founded in 2001, Café Orgánico Marcala (COMSA) began with a vision of creating new and alternative development opportunities for small-scale coffee farmers in the department of La Paz. The organization originally brought together 69 small-scale farmers of Lenca origin who were interested in selling their coffee collectively under the umbrella of a rural credit union. COMSA is now comprised of more than 1500 farming members who continue to demonstrate regenerative organic practices focused on improving productivity and protecting plants from common diseases.
The organic Honduran coffee used in this decaffeinated espresso was processed using the Mountain Water method.
You will not find many decaffeinated Honduran coffees quite like this one from Café Orgánico Marcala. Sacrificing caffeine does not have to mean that you have to give up on flavor. Our Honduran Decaf Espresso pulls a clean shot that is mellow and malty with brown sugar, raisin, and vanilla notes. It has a round chocolatey body and a malty finish. It holds up well on its own and pairs beautifully with milk for those interested in more indulgent espresso-based drinks.
