Back in 2008 when Cafe Viruoso owner Laurie started roasting in her garage, who would have guessed that this coffee would become a cult classic? La Jolla farmers market in San Diego was one of the first places Virtuoso began selling coffee, and in La Jolla, they call the heart of the city "the Cove", which is this coffee's namesake.
Made up of a blend of Indonesian, Central American, and South American coffees, and finished at an Italian roast level, this is a clean, complex coffee with a smoky finish. Cove Blend is great as a batch brew (for those who like a darker roast) as well as a French press.
I have been a subscriber since their launch, having been introduced to Better Grounds at a coffee festival. I have enjoyed every monthly selection so far! Their service is a great choice for anyone who, like me, wants easier access great quality coffee and anyone who might feel overwhelmed trying to look into the sourcing bonafides of different brands. I appreciate that they do this work for their clients, and also support different roasters who are doing good work.
