This coffee is a great crowd-pleasing batch brew.  It has a nutty, sweet, and balanced flavor profile, and with low acidity it stands up well to cream and sugar.

The humidity and altitude present in the La Cañada region of Oaxaca, Mexico, create ideal conditions for growing coffee. The elevation here is 1,200 - 1,500 meters containing mostly Mundo Novo, Bourbon, Typica, and Criollo varieties. Union de Productores Las Flores is based in this region in the town of Eloxochitlán de Flores Magón. This supplier is about 6 hours east of Mixteca. Each member owns .5 - 3 hectares, wet milling the coffee at their own mills before transporting their coffee in parchment to the UPLF beneficio. The majority of La Cañada farmers, pickers, and beneficio workers still speak the indigenous language of the region.

I have been a subscriber since their launch, having been introduced to Better Grounds at a coffee festival. I have enjoyed every monthly selection so far! Their service is a great choice for anyone who, like me, wants easier access great quality coffee and anyone who might feel overwhelmed trying to look into the sourcing bonafides of different brands. I appreciate that they do this work for their clients, and also support different roasters who are doing good work.
